Parents & teachers

The member zone is an exclusive members' section for 14 to 15 years and 9 months, offering a unique insight into what life is like in the RAF. Members also have access to special content like interviews with RAF personnel, RAF features, Altitude screensavers and downloads, competitions and more. In addition, members receive Altitude update emails and two free magazines a year by post.

The Altitude club is free, fun and informative and there is absolutely no obligation for members to join the RAF.

All members must have their parents’ permission to join the Altitude club.

Education and training resources are available for maths and science teachers to help bring the RAF into the classroom.

Education and training resources

This section is dedicated to helping teachers who want to make learning more fun by using educational scenarios and challenges based around the RAF.

Museums

A trip to one of our two museums makes a fascinating and stimulating day out for your students. Both use their extensive collections to create a brilliant range of learning facilities for children at all levels of the National Curriculum.

RAF Museum Cosford is home to a collection of over 60 wartime aircraft which are linked to a wide variety of educational activities. The interactive Fun ‘n’ Flight gallery offers a great introduction to the principles of flight and plans are in hand to expand the interactive centre and add more monthly and permanent exhibitions. Admission is free.

RAF Museum London houses over 200 aircraft including the legendary Spitfire and Lancaster Bomber. Extensive collections of missiles, engines and aviation artefacts are also on display. The recently opened Aeronauts interactive gallery helps bring science to life through a range of educational exhibits and themed zones. Admission is free.
